Authorities foilded a plot on Tuesday by group of 9 Georgia 3rd graders to attack and possibly murder their "special needs" teacher. This was in apparant retaliation to being disciplined for standing on a chair.
It was a well-planned attack with the calculation of the Kennedy assassination. Police confiscated a broken steak knife, handcuffs, duct tape, eletrical and transparent tape, and a crystal paperweight. There was a division of labor among the 8 and 9-year olds in which one child was responsible for covering the windows and another for cleaning up after the attack. I'm picturing an elaborate blueprint with stick figures drawn in crayon on construction paper. Oddly, due to Georgia law, none of the children will be charged with a crime as the age threshhold is 13.
Though these kids clearly exhibit troubling sociopathic behavior, there are a few redeeming skill sets at work here - project management, organization, teamwork, and committment. The fact that they wholly understand the very important business concept of division of labor is impressive. It's something that the New York Knicks organization is just beginning to latch onto as Isaiah Thomas' juggling of Head Coach, President, and General Manager duties has driven the franchise to an all-time low. Give them a few years...perhaps we'll see some of these devil's rejects on the Apprentice.
